If this is your first truck driver’s visa to the UK, it’s better to start with a 6-month visa or, at most, a 2-year visa. Even if you pay the consular fee for a 10-year visa, the officer has the right to issue a shorter-term visa or one valid until your passport’s expiration date, and even deny the visa without refunding the fee. You can discuss your situation further with a lawyer during a consultation and decide based on their recommendations.
Is it mandatory to provide documents from the employer?

What is the biometric submission process?
You will need to print the application and appointment confirmation and visit the UK visa center, where your fingerprints will be taken, a photo will be taken, and your passport will be collected for visa issuance.
If I have only one passport, is it necessary to leave it at the visa center?
After biometric submission, your passport is taken for the duration of the decision-making process and visa issuance. However, you can pay for the ‘keep my passport’ service to have it returned on the day of biometrics. Once a decision is made, you will need to submit your passport again to have the visa affixed.
If I urgently need a visa, can I pay for expedited processing?
Expedited processing is currently limited, as immigration services prioritize refugee programs for Ukrainians. However, in some visa centers, this option is still available. You can check whether expedited processing is available at your visa center.
Can I only know the visa decision upon receiving my passport?
When a visa decision is made, you will receive an email notification. Usually, if the visa is approved, there will be no attachments. In case of denial, the email will include a detailed explanation of the reasons. However, the final confirmation comes when you receive your passport.
