Answering frequently asked questions

How long does the visa process take?
The process can take from a few weeks to several months, depending on the workload of the embassies and the country of application. We will help you choose the best option.
What documents do I need to prepare?
The required documents include a passport, a 5×5 photo, and proof of consular fee payment. Additional documents are selected individually depending on your situation.
What should I do if my visa is denied?
A denial does not mean you can never get a visa. We will analyze the reasons for the denial, prepare you for reapplication, and increase your chances of successfully obtaining a visa.
Can I work in the US on a B1/B2 visa?
No, this visa is not intended for work. However, it allows for business meetings, attending conferences, and addressing work-related matters.
Where can I have the visa interview?
The interview can be conducted in any country where there is a US embassy. We will help you choose the country and organize the process.
What is the difference between a B1 visa for a business trip and a full business visa?
The B1 visa is for short-term business trips, including negotiations, attending conferences, and meetings. It does not grant employment rights in the US. A business visa (e.g., L-1 or E-2) is for long-term stays for work or business purposes.
What is the difference between a B1 visa for study purposes and a student visa?
A B1 visa allows for short-term courses without earning an academic degree. A student visa is required for long-term study at accredited institutions and provides the right to earn a degree.
I don’t know English, what should I do?
If you cannot attend the interview in English (or the official language of the country you’re applying from), you can bring an interpreter. Additionally, some embassies provide interpreters to help you with the interview.
Can I request an emergency interview if I have a business meeting scheduled, but my interview date is later?
Yes, you can submit such a request, and the embassy will decide whether to approve or deny it.
How can I apply for my children if they don’t have their own passport?
In this case, you can include your children in the passport of one of the parents. The children’s visas will be stamped in that parent’s passport. However, you need to keep in mind that in this case, children cannot travel to the US without the parent/guardian whose passport contains the child’s visa.
I can’t bring original documents. What should I do?
Bring colored or black-and-white copies of the documents you cannot provide in original form. Also, prepare an explanation in case the visa officer asks about the missing document. If needed, we can help you phrase your response correctly.
Can I stay in the US on a B1/B2 visa?
The B1/B2 visa is non-immigrant, so you cannot stay in the US on it. However, you can apply for a change of status upon arrival in the US, if you have valid grounds.
Can I extend my stay in the US on a tourist visa?
Yes, you can apply to extend your stay in the US on a tourist visa. You need to submit Form I-539 to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) before your current stay expires.
Do I need to provide medical insurance to obtain a tourist visa?
Having medical insurance is not a mandatory requirement for obtaining a tourist visa or staying in the US, but it is recommended to have insurance during your stay in the US to cover possible medical expenses.
How long is a B1/B2 visa valid for?
A B1/B2 visa is typically issued for 10 years.
I already had a B1/B2 visa for the US, but it expired. Can I extend it?
In some US embassies, there is a procedure to renew the visa without an interview. However, this option depends on several factors, including the date of issue and expiration of the previous visa, the country of issuance, and other circumstances.
What should I do if my passport expires before the visa expiration date?
In this case, when obtaining a new passport, you should keep the old one. For travel to the US, both passports need to be presented: the new one for identity verification, and the old one with the valid visa.
How much money should be in the account to approve a US tourist visa?
There is no exact amount required for the approval of a B-1 visa. However, you need to prove that you have sufficient funds to cover the trip, including the flight, accommodation, and daily expenses. You will need to provide a bank statement for this.
